Ma philosophie autour de l'art, c'est que tout le monde a le potentiel d’être artiste et chacun a une empreinte unique à laisser sur le monde. Je crois que la créativité artistique a un pouvoir transformateur, et en développant les compétences nécessaires et en créant un environnement qui lui est propice, elle se manifestera. La peinture peut véritablement enrichir la vie des gens.

Tu me dis, j’oublie. Tu m’enseignes, je me

souviens. Tu m’impliques, j’apprends.

Bien avant de connaître ce proverbe, je le vivais déjà. L’interaction entre l’artiste et son matériel est une expérience profonde. Pour tout artiste, l'art est dans le développement de cette relation complexe entre le matériel, l’œil et la main. Une fois alignée, la créativité se libère comme par magie et vous en serez étonné des réalisations de vos propres mains. C’est un sentiment qui peut sembler difficile à exprimer, mais qui nous rend “accros” de notre pratique artistique.

My philosophy around art-making is that everyone has the potential to be an artist and each person has a unique mark to make. I truly believe that art-making   has a transformative power, and by developing the necessary skills and creating an environment that is conducive to it, it will occur. Painting can truly enrich peoples lives.

Long before I was aware of this proverb, I knew it to be the truth. As artists, there is something profound in the interaction with the material we work with. The art is in the development of that complex relationship between the material, the eye and the hand. Once aligned, it feels almost like magic and is astonishing - you can’t believe what your hands have just done. That feeling is indescribable and is what keeps us coming back for more.
